well, i dont know where to post this figured this would be a good spot. in the end i would hope it to be a block wow heads would like
Q. how do sites grab the XML data from the wow armory and place it in a block or on their page?
Reason: I would like to grab the Related information for our guild ie. Raid Progression, Guild Roster, Achievments, Server Rank that sort of stuff.
Research: I found lots of sites offering it for their "Hosting" options and such so i know this is possible. I have even found in the Blizzard Post on the info and structure but then where do i paste the info and ... omg in over my head again
ok i did some leg work lastnight and today and found what i think is what i need now that i have it what do i do with it, i would like the info returned in a block with just our guild info. oh and btw, reading and hanging out here i learned how to use the spoiler thing... woot for me!! do i just put the info in a new block called... block_guildinfo.? i dont know... Please ubercoder, help me your my only hope....
I found another one, which wrote the HTML for me but as you stated before read it first, i did and it seems good to me i removed some stuff i didnt want and added the things i didn't... correct, i am not sure. but anyway i do not think this will update on its own which is what i want. the other thing i would like to try is getting it to match the site.. now that's going to be tuff for me anyway.
I guess this post is really ?? How do i get it to update on its own and can some of this be chopped out?? Ideas would be great full
since the portal blocks are not ajaxed, it will not update without a page refresh. It should however update every page refresh since your pulling your xml info from wowarmory.com Be sure not to cache the block
well i have learned how to do this and get the info i what but now what this is the returned info from the armory, how do i get it nice and neat in html in sot sort of form, i know what noooooob a quick pointer and some good reading from the masters would be helpful
