One of my drives failed (500GB) and the loss is causing some problems now and will probably lead to others later...
The drive contained all my style backup as well as new ports, several stargate backups, program backups and much more...

I can always port the styles again but from memory it also had the most comprehensive backup of all local installations for stargate...

Also noticed, Firefox now crashes at startup, runs in safe mode only... A reinstall did not solve the problem, neither did a complete uninstall and reinstall... Is it possible firefox had some flies on the failed drive as this problem only occurred when the drive failed... nothing else makes sense...

If I missing in the next few days, I probably trying to recover everything from other sources... I know I have parts in other rives...

Blocks appearing in different locations for guests (or when your logged out... which means you are a guest

)...
Relates to versions after 3.x.x...

Blocks were not being sorted for guests... here's the Fix:
Open: sgp_portal_blocks.php
Find:

Code: Select all: else { $sql = 'SELECT * FROM ' . K_BLOCKS_TABLE . ' WHERE active = 1 AND (view_pages != 0) AND (view_by != 0 OR view_all = 1)'; }

Replace with:

Code: Select all: else { $sql = 'SELECT * FROM ' . K_BLOCKS_TABLE . ' WHERE active = 1 AND (view_by != 0 OR view_all = 1) AND (view_pages != 0) ORDER BY ndx ASC'; }

If you add language characters (for example ä, ö and ü) they were not being saved correctly...

Open: includes/acp/acp_k_modules.php
Find:

Code: Select all: $details = ready_text_for_storage(utf8_normalize_nfc(request_var('mod_details', '')));

Replace with:

Code: Select all: $details = ready_text_for_storage(utf8_normalize_nfc(request_var('mod_details', '', true)));

This is needed for Multibyte characters...

As trangthancb pointed out, in his post, other entries could have UTF-8 characters too...
So add true to all entries that could contain them... (includes/acp/acp_k_modules.php)

I have build a slimmed down version of the portal for people who want a simplified version... you may have seen my post on this... if you would like to test it out on local install, I will add it...

It contains only the basic setup... no frills... no mods...
Ideal starter for new members...

Update...
Will be switching to Helter's version (using the auto detect language and Martin Truckenbrodt language select mod) soon...

The translation block is working (after a fashion)...
Only Google translation is actually working... old translation link used in prior versions appear to be dead (more work is required for these).

The base url is achieved using simple code to avoid contentious issues, we use:

Code: Select all: 'BASE_URL' => $config['server_protocol'] . 'www.' . $config['sitename'] . $spath . $page,

Obviously you must have sitename in ACP set to your site URL....
You can translate any page the translation block is visible on...
